CANTERBURY STEAMERS. The Canterbury Steamship Company advise the following, movements; The Calm is duo to-day from Wanganui, and sails again the same day for 60Uth. The Breeze is due ou Tuesday from south, and sails from here the same day for Wanganui. The Kohi is due to-day from Picton, Nelson and bays, and sails again on Monday for Nelson. ZEALANDIC FOR AUSTRALIA, The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Zealandie leaves Lyttelton on Tuesday for Dunedin. She later proceeds to Australia to load for Home, after the completion of the discharge of her London cargo. TAINUI’S ITINERARY. The S.S. and A. steamer Tainui leaves Lyttelton on Tuesday for loading at Port Chalmers, thsnce Bluff, Timaru and Wellington. She is due here on October 21th and sails on October 31st for Southampton and London, via Monte Video and Tenoriffe. TRECARRELL FOR SOUTH. AUCKItAND-WHANG ARBI TRADE. The steamer Huia will commence running in tho Auckland-Whangarei trade next week, making two tripe weekly. She will be dispatched from Auckland on Mondays and Thursdays for Whang&rei town wharf, and will leave Whangarei on Tuesdays and Fridays. THE NARDANA. The Nardana, from Liverpool, arrived at Colon on October Ist, and sailed the following day in continuation of her voyage. She ia expected to arrive at Auckland about October 25th, and will later discharge at Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Bluff. THE PIAKO. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Piako sailed from New Plymouth at noon on Thursday for Wellington, where she arrived yesterday to load for London. She is soheduled to sail from Auckland on October 24th for London and West qf England ports, via New York tt-d Boston. THE MOERAKI. The intercolonial passenger steamer Moeraki cleared Melbourne on Wednesday morning for Wellington, and is due here on Monday. She sails on Tuesday next for Melbourne, via southern porta. ROTORUA FOR HOME. The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Rotorua, whioh left Wellington for Auckland, is to leave the northern port to-morrow for Southampton and London, via Pitcairn Island and Panama. THE WEST NILUS The Swayne and Hoyt liner West Nilus Is now loading on the Pacific Coast for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Melbourne. She is scheduled to 'clear from San Francisco on October 31et. HAURAKI FROM PACIFIC COAST. Laden with general cargo, Caro oU and timber from the Pacifio Coatft, the Union Co.’s motor-ship Hauraki sailed from ban Francisco on September 29th, and will be due at Auckland on October 20th. She will discharge all her New Zealand cargo at this port, afterwards proceeding to Melbourne and Adelaide.

The 9.8. and A. liner Pakeha (Captain W H. Hartman), which arrived at Auckland. has about 6009 tons of general cargo, and also to put out 13 animals for the Auckland Zoo. After being delayed over a month by the dockers' strike, the Pakeha sailed from London on August 29th. and on the 90th loaded explosive* at Thames Avon. On the 81st the steamer sailed for New Zealand. She arrived at Colon on September 15th, and took In bunker coal, proceeding through toe kankA the following dayt The voyage was uneventful, ana was made at an average speed of 12.7 knots. At the request of the Wellington Association, Messrs Richardson and Co., Napier, have agreed to allow 29 per cent, reduction on freight of samples between Napier and Wairoa to bona fide commercial travellers, members of an association, provided that the traveller Shall accompany the samples and that an soeuraaee is given with regard to stock. NORTHERN COMPANY’S SERVICE. A very fine service to Gisborne, via Taurange, Matata, Whakatane, and Opotikl was inaugurated l by the Northern Steam Ship Company of Auckland some Unto ago, and .is greatly appreciated by travellers. Passengers leave Auckland on Mondays and Thursdays and .connect with early train Tuesdays and Saturdays at Xauranga for Matata, from the latter town a motor service goes through Whakatane and Opotiki (at the latter place a stay is made for luncheon!, and arrives at Gisborne early in the evening. The trop is most enjoyable travelling, tho road going along the ooast and through native bush, and the company is to be congratulated on its enterprise in conveying travellers through the coast so expeditiously.
