EMPIRE EXHIBITION
NO AWARDS FOR EXHIBITS. MEDALS TO BE ISSUED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received October 11, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, October 10. Owing to the many difficulties in the way of assessing effectively the merits of the different exhibits at the Empire Exhibition, the authorities propose to abandon competitive awards and to issue instead a commemorative medal to all exhibitors. An endeavour is being made to secure the support of the dominions. If the general opinion favours the proposal, steps will be immediately a ken to regularise the abandonment of awards. If it is found impossible, the awards will probably be made by a jury appointed by tbe exhibitors in the various, sections.
