DIVERS’ WORK FRUITLESS. NARROW ESCAPES. Reuter’s Telegram. (Received October 11, 0.0 p.m.) LONDON, October 10. Five naval divers again fruitlessly attempted to penetrate the Redding workings, and were brought up exhausted after narrow escapes from falling debris. Subsequently five other divers spent several hours below, but encountered insuperable obstructions. Tho rescuers’ efforts will henceforth be limited to tho pumping out of the water.
