The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the fallowing cablegram from their London house, under date 10th instant: — "Tallow—We quote present spot prices for the following descriptions:—Fine mutton, 42s 9d. per cwt; good beef, 41s 9d per cwt; mixed, 36s 9d per cwt. Market inactive.*’ TALLOW. Dalgetv and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 10th inetant: —‘‘Tallow: 1190 casks of tallow offered, 190 casks sold. Mutton tallow market firm. Scarcely any demand for low and inferior descriptions. Prices nominally 6d lower." DEPRESSION IN WHEAT. Australian and N.Z. C#»bl* Association. (Received October 11, 8.50 p.m.) LONDON, October 10. The market for wheat cargoes is depressed by the American decline and the absonce of British and Continental demand. Quotations are slightly lower. Parcels are in quiet demand, with prices 6d to 9d lower. TALLOW SALES Anstralian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received October 11, 13.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 10. The Waihi Company during the period ended September 29th treater! 16,258 tons of ore for a return of 5349 ounces of gold and 44,947 ounces of silver. In last year's corresponding period 15,347 tons yielded 4290 ounces of gold and 36,805 ounces of silver.
