SUNDAY TENNIS
DURING VICTORIA COLLEGE SUMMER RECESS.
At the meeting of the Victoria College Council last night, a somewhat lengthy discussion took place in the following notice of motion standing m the name of Professor Hunter:--
“That, ir. reference to the playing of tennis on the College courts on Sunday, the following resolution, pass ed by the council on August 10th, 1922: ‘That no play be allowed on Sundays during the summer recess,’ be rescinded.” On a division, the motion wa3 carried by six votes to four. There voted for the motion, Messrs P. Levi (chairman), Watson. Fair, Bakewell, PaTkinson, and Professor Hunter. Against the motion, Messrs Atkinson, Forsyth, Howell, and McCall urn.
