SALE OF WHEAT

MARKETING AGREEMENT. GENERAL CONFERENCE! SUGGESTED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. NEW YORK, July 28. A Waehington dispatch to the “New York. Journal of Commerce” says that the possibility of an international orderly agreement on the marketing of Canadian, Australian, and Argentinian wheat has already been raised at conferences held between representatives of foreign growers and the American Farm Bureau Federation. The federation holds that there ia no legal obstacle to prevent the grain exporters of the principal countries agreeing that grain should be offered in such a manner as would not glut the market. Argentine growers are apprehensive regarding the manner in which the prospective American wheat surplus will be handled, for, if it is dumped on the foreign markets, a general depression, it is feared, will result throughout tho world. An immediate general conference on tho suggested marketing agreement is i not contemplated; but gradual measures will be taken to develop an international understanding.
