DEAD IN A CAR

A MYSTERIOUS ACCIDENT. MELBOURNE, July 10. Mystery surrounds a motor accident. Percy Bayley was driving a party home from a football match, when the car collided with a telegraph pole. A constable who saw the accident went across and found one of the occupants, Hugh Mackinnon (18), dead on the back seat. Leslie Rivett (18), who was thrown to the road, was removed to the hospital suffering from shock and concussion. The driver, who fan away immediately after the accident, was later arrested and charged with manslaughter. Another occupant, named Beecham, was uninjured.
