REVIEW OF OPERATIONS. Tho last bale of Bawra wool to leave Australia for London is now a fortnight on its way in the hold of the steamer Leitrim. It was loaded on Alay Ist, at Prince!s Pier, Port Alelbourno, and was one oT 331 bales of wool consigned by the British Australian Wool Realisation Association, Limited, and was likewise the last bale of Australian wool covered by the British Imperial wool purchase scheme. A review of the operations of trio Imperial wool purchase scheme discloses that it covered altogether 7,156,616 bales of Australian wool, the appraised value of which amounted to £153,744,825, while the flat rate value —or the purchase price paid by the British Government—was £160,591,173 3s lOd When Australian charges, amounting to £6,386,208 Bs, were added, the grand total was £166,977,381 11a lOd.
