PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS

NEW SOUTHERN WING. STATEMENT BY PREVIE MINISTER. An intimation that the old Government House may before long be removed to permit of the erection of the southern wing of the new Parliament Buildings, was given by the Prime Minister yesterday at the afternoon given to tho educational conference delegates by the Hon. C. J. and Mrs Parr. The Prime Minister expressed the hope that he would often see the representative educationalists of the .Dominion at Parliament Buildings, though perhaps not in that room—the old Government House ball-room at one time used as a temporary chamber for the House of Representatives—because that building was to give way soon to a bigger and more pretentious building.
