Two years ago, says the “Chicago Tribune,” Bernice Redick, a schoolgirl of 18, who was sensitive and nervous, but otherwise normal, gave signs that she was returning to her childhood, showed a. fondness for toys, and soon displayed, in all but phys.que, the characteristics of a little gir] of foui or fivo. Tho State Welfare Department became interested, and under the care of specialists Polly—as she was now known—recovered, and her life in the interval remained in her mind only as a dreim of her early years. Then she took a situation as a clerk, but the work taxed her, and she once more ceased to bo the young woman Bernice and becamo Polly, the child of four again. Dr. Goddard, of the University, says that Polly and Bernice, the two personalities in her, are now striving for mastery. The strain may prove too much, but if his patient’s nervous energy can hold out, ho believe'; the younger of the two will be finally ousted. ' ,
