EMPIRE SOLIDARITY

PREMIER’S SPEECH ‘ SERIOUS MENACE TO UNITY OF BRITISH EMPIRE. “COLLAPSE OF CIVILISATION.” On the motion of Col. T. V. McDonald, seconded by Mr R. B. Beil, the Dominion executive of the N.Z.Lt.S.A. unanimously resolved yesterday : “That this meeting views with grave concern the utterance of the Prime Minister of the Dominion ot Canada, ir. which he is reported to have suggested, an effect, that no part of the Empire should be at war unless that part is itself affected by invasion. “As the N.Z.R.S.A. believes that the well-beiug of each constituent part of the Empire is bound up i» the future prosperity of the whole, it is convinced that such a policy sa that alleged by and communicated by the Canadian Premier would, if adopted, result in the disintegration of the Empire, and so make for a collapse of civilisatioh as we know it.
