“ HAD TOO MUCH ”
’FRISCO MAN TAKES A CHANCE. AND MISSES BOAT. Thomas James Hemming, on his first offence of drunkenness, was fined os and costs by Mr E. Page, S.M., yesterday. “Unfortunately I had too much,” was his comment upon the affair. “It’s the first opportunity I have had for a long time.” Senior-Sergeant Lander added that the man had been a passenger on a Union iCompriny steamer from San Francisco, and had come ashore. As the result of the “few” he had had, the vessel had sailed without him. Hemming, who was perturbed about the fate of Lis luggage, also was fined 20s or three days’ imprisonment, on a charge of casting offensive matter on the pavement.
