M.C.C. TEAM AT NELBON LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES DEFEATED. Per Press Association. NELSON, January 31. The crioket match. M.C.C. against a combined Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast team, -was concluded in perfect weather and was won by the visitors by an and 75 runs. Continuing their innings overnight the M.C.C. score was increased to, 248. Chapman gave a fine all-round display, and included in his total were ten 4a. The fielding of the local team was good, bnt in their second innings they made a poor show, only 55 runs being scored, the innings lasting about an hour. The bowling of Freeman and Brand proved altogether too good for the local batsmen, and Komnitz and McKellar were the onlypair to make anything like a stand. Scores:— COMBINED TEAM.
