PROPERTY MAY BE CONFISCATED LLOYD GEORGE’S CONDEMNATION “ A REVOLT WILL GOME ” The mine owners of the Ruhr were ordered by trm French to deliver the requisitioned coal. Their own Government threatened them with a year’s imprisonment if they obey the French. Twenty-three of the mine owners have now been summoned to appear before a French court-martial. Their personal fortunes may be confiscated. In a remarkable article Mr Lloyd George roundly condemns the French, and declares that the occupation will Inevitably drive Germany to desperate measures, and moreover, he says, it will achieve nothing except the hatred of an implacable foe.
