It now appears that the district at short intervals is visited by the fumes of mustard gas shells, which are released by the breaking up of surplus war materials dumped near Gatwick racecourse, and the Horley Parish Council have now taken the matter np with the Disposal Board. Dr. S. A. Cldrke, a member of the Parish Council, tells me that people are suffering from catarrh, sore throats, sore eyes, and irritation oi the skin. “It is the result of the gas fumes,” said the doctor. “I have patients, two of whom are employed at the dump, suffering from mustard gas fumes, and I treated them' accordingThere are thousands of mnstard shells' at the dump.
