SPIRIT MESSAGES
EXCUSE OF A WOMAN BLACKMAILER. Found guilty of sending letters demanding money with menaces from Mre Hulse, widov of the Talke licensee who was shot dead in bed last December. Clara Jones, aged 90, dressmaker, and Alice Mary Jones, aged 28, velvet cutter, wore each sentenced to 18 months* hard labour at Stafford Assizes. 'Tho younger prisoner said she acted under tho influence of spiritualistic messages from Hulee.
