WITNESSES ENGAGE COUNSEL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 18, 11.5 p.m.) NEW YORE, January 17. According to a Merrouge message, the first active legal step in the Ku Klux Klan cases occurred to-day, when a group of witnesses retained counsel to guide them in answering questions. Counsel advised, the witnesses not to answer various questions, on the ground .'of, possible incrimination.
