BOXING
HANNAH V. MURRAY. TOWN HALL NEXT THURSDAY. It is generally admitted that the local Boxing Association in recent years has used considerable judgment in - arranging its programmes for patrons, and the contests to be decided on Thursday next appear likely to come well up to the standard previously set. In Murray and Hannah, two lightweights will bo seen who are »n a class by themselves. The latter has been anxious for some time to try conclusions with the holder of the title, and with the spell ho has taken since his last contests here he is reported to be showing exceptional form quite up to, if not better than, at any time in his career. Murrav too, has been taking a spoil, and is now reported to be in great fettle. He •arrived from tho South on Wednesday. i It is proposed to stage four amateur preliminaries, and in _ these some exceptionally good boxing should be seen. Mr Earl Stewart has been appointed referee, while the judging will be in the capable hands of Messrs Stanles and Woods. ' The box plan was opened on Wednesday morning, since when there has beeti a keen demand for seats. A largo attendance appears to be assured, and intending patrons will be wise to secure their seats to save disappointment.
