AMONG THE SHARKS
INCIDENT AT SYDNEY. An experience which they <lo not want to pass through again was provided the crew of the IS-footer Ivy, when on a journey down tho harbour at Sydney recently. The Ivy was passing Athol Bight, where the steamer, Fiona was anchored, when they saw a huge . shark. being “played” by someone aboard/ .The crew , of the Ivy were amazed to see several other sharks swimming about their captured mate; f In their excitement the men in the Ivy failed to notice a, fresh breeze come across the. water, and as soon as it struck, the. jvy. tho sailing boat topplecl , over and the crew were'sent splashing about in the water. : . The skipper, named Barker, and his crew say that the sharks disappeared as soon as the sail touched the water; but, nevertheless; the captured monster was still struggling about at no great distance from the c'apsized boat. A passing launch, noticing the plight of the men, went to their assistance and soon picked them up, little the worse for ‘ their experience. Crews of many other boats on tho harbour remarked on the prevalence of sharks. '
