SUNDAY SCHOOL PRIZE-GIVING. A very bright evening was spent at the Knox Church, Woburn road, Sunday Sohool Hall, Lower Hutt, last Tuesday. The event was the annual prize-giving for highest marks awarded during the year 1922. : The hall was filled . with; scholars, parents, and friends,,'and was beautifully decorated for tfie occasion. Mrs Feiet'e. .class, Julia. Withington, :1; Nessie .Bayley, 2: Gladys Stylos, 3. Mies Finlay’s class, Valarie Feist, 1; Molly Shearer, 2; Zita Frost, 3.' A Division : Miss Kersley'a class, Jean Callender, 1; Peggy Walaie, g. ■ B Division:: Joyce Barron; 1; Elliot Wallace, 2. Mr Young's class:. Guy Feist, 1; Tom Massey, 2. Mr Cook’s class: Graham Bond, 1; Malcolm Bayley, 2. ■ Mr Horsley's special prize for (highest marks among the boys was won by Arthur Thomas. / • The prizes won by the members of the Worshipping Children’s League for ohuroh attendance were also - presented, 39 members receiving books. •During the evening Christmas carols were sung by the scholars, the audience joining in. thus making a "community carol sing.' Mrs Menard and_a number of her pupils came, out from Wellington and provided songs and recitations, Miss Edna Purdie also took part. The young folk of Woburn road Sunday Sdhool greatly enjoyed the splendid entertainment provided. The young folk, before going to the train, were given a splendid supper by the teachers./ The Sunday school will be closed during the holidays, and will reopen the first. Sunday in February. ,Tke .superintendent and teaefiere will be delighted to welcome new ecfbolars on and after that date. The superintendent of the Sunday eohool stated that there were 150 young people on the eohool roll, with 15 teachers, arid: that the attendance ot both teachers and scholars wan excellent.
