At the ripe age of seventy-nine there passed away at Onehunga a colonist of forty years’ standing who wan well known in Auckland and neighbourhood, Mr Andrew Scott. He reached New Zealand when in the prime of life, accompanied by his wife and only daughter. After carrying on a business in Auckland, he retired with a modest competence, and for nearly twenty years past had lived at Dovonport until hie removal to Onehunga last year. Some of the first-class restaurants in Chicago have the tables supplied with telephones, so that busy employers can converse, while they eat, with the various managers in their offices or places of bußienss.
