REMARKABLE GLIDING RECORD. Australian and N.Z Cable Association. PARIS, January 4. Lieutenant Thoret created a gliding record with an army biplane at Biskra, bw remaining in the air seven hours after shutting off the engine. Reuter’s Telegram. PARIS, January 4. Advices from Biskra, Algeria, state that the remarkable feat of remaining in the air far 100 minutes in an ordinary aeroplane with the engine shnt off, by utilising aerial currents, was accomplished by a French aviator.
