An eight-roomed house at Kamo Springs, owned by S. C. Jounneanx, and occupied by W. R. Jenkins, was totally destroyed by fire at midnight. The occupants hurriedly escaped in their night attire. Mr Welch and his wife are in Wellington for the holidays. . The cause of the outbreak - is unknown, and the insurances are unavailable, but it is believed the boQding was covered. <
