Tramway traffic on the Wellington system during the Christmas and New Year holidays has been very brisk, I and the fact tha-c during such a busy period there have- been no accidents worthy of record refle its great credit upon the service. In tho nine-day period from December 24th to January 2nd some hundreds of thousands of passengers were - carried, qnd the cash takings amounted tc £8557 14s- lid, or .£626 3* 7di more than during the corresponding period of 1921-22. - The cash takings for Christmas live, Boxing Day, and -New Year’s Day exe'eeded .the takings of the same three days twelve months ago by £669 14s. The heaviest - traffic was on Christmas Era, when well over a hundred thousani people patronised the cars. ■ . ■ /
