Financed by contributions from New Zealand school children and other friends in the Dominion, the Church Army is arranging a New Zealand Christmas dinner for about 1000 poor London children in the Guildhall, kindly lent for the occasion ' (says the, Auckland “Star’s” correspondent) ■ Arrangements are being made by tho same society for New Zealand dinners in several of the provincial towns. Special contributions have been sent by the New- Zealand- local secretary of the Church Army since 1910 for Christmas festivities. Until 1920 the money was spent in the .ordinary Christmas arrangements of the society, but in 1920 and 1921 a series of New Zealand dinners was organised in various pasta of London and the provinces. Nearly 3000 children benefited last year by the gift of the colonists. The bulk of the money is subscribed by New Zealand' school children, though a largo proportion of the amount represents the proceeds of the sale of fleeces of the black sheep, which a number of the colonial farmers send to th< Church Army honorary secretary i« New Zealand for sale on behalf of th* Christmas dinner fund.
