MEETING OF COUNCIL. HALF-COURSE IN ITALIAN'AH. PROVED. He proposed; to inaugurate such classes, and asked that the classes he recognised as a halfcourse, and asked that the fee he fixed. ; The proposal was agreed to, and the fee fixed at two guineas. Professor Garrow made a similar pro* posal with regard to a class in law fox accountancy students. This was alsd agreed to and the fees fixed accordingly. 5 The council approved of the action of .the chairman (Mr P. Levi) in accepting! the tender of Messrs Davison and (£1450) for finishing the top floor of the south wing of the college. ri The request of Professor Kirk that the’ top bridge between the arts and buildings'"be glazed, and provision madd for a water supply to the aquaria, etc.J was acceded to, the cost of the worla being stated at £43.
