ALLEGED THEFT OF SHOES
ACCUSED REMANDED TO WANGANUI. “A .VERY THIN CASE." '“Charged: with the theft of two pairs of ladies’ shoes valued at J 32 Is fid, the property of Kathleen Roe, Samuel Arthur Maxton,, 45 years of age, and described as a' bontmakox- appeared before Mr F. K. Sunt, S.H., at the. Magistrate’s Court accused is a very thin one. However, I understand that the Chief Detective intends asking for a remand to Wanganui/ Chief Detective: Yes, the position is that a young girl brought the shoes to the defendant, for the purpose of repair. He intimated that he intended leaving. Wanganui, hut 6he said she would call before his departure. About two days later, wben she went for the shoes, the shop -was shut and the defendant nowhere to be found. The shoes were subsequently found fn a second-hand shop. The accused was accordingly remanded, to appear at Wanganui on the 16th instant.
