THEATRICAL DEAL
Wellington opera house sale. Shareholders in the Wellington Opera House Company, Limited, wall be asked to consider, and if thought fit, to pass resolutions to give effect to the sale of its properties, the Grand Opera House and Everybody’s Theatre (the old Opera House) to a new company. This company is to be formed for the purpose of acquiring and carrying on the properties of the Wellington Grand Opera House Company, Ltd., also all the properties in New Zealand of J. C. Williamson,, Ltd., and all the business of that company as carried on by it in New Zealand. The proposed company will hawe a nominal capital of £200,000, and be called “J. C. Williamson (jN.Z.), Limited.” The purchase price of the Wellington Opera House will be £50.000, to b* paid in debentures by the new company, payable in fifty years, and bearing interest at the rate of 124 per cent, per annum. This rate, however, is to be subject to reduction if th< dividend to be paid by the new com. pun- in any year is at a less rate than 12) per 'cent., but the debenture interest shall not he less than 7 per cent. Tt will also he proposed that the Wellington Opera House Company be wound up, and Mr Waltei Brooke Taylor be its liquidator.
