THREATENING BEHAVIOUR
TWO MEN CONVICTED.
Charges of using threatening behavl. our were preferred against Walter Robert Page and James Conlon, who appeared .before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Conlon admitted the offence, while Page pleaded not guilty. Called by Senior-Sergeant Lander, Constable Muir said that' both men, who were under the influence of liquor at the time, had engaged in a stand-up fight. Page (from the dock): My opponent was the aggressor. He punched me and knocked me down.
Conlon: I was sitting down having a drink when this man came in. He asked me to "shout" for him, and when I refused he spaiTTit me. Both accused had previous convictions, and were each fined £1 and costs, in default three davs' imprisonment. On a 5 further charge of committing a breach’ of his prohibition order, Page was fined 10s and costs.
