He was first Mayor of East Ham, and is a director of Barclay's Bank, Ltd., and the Royal Exchange Assurance and Warwick Estaites Company, Ltd. Sii Edward Goulding, P.C., M.P., an Inner Temple barrister. Lieutenant-Colonel F. B. Mildmay, P.C., M.P. He served in the South African and European wars. He has been in Parliament since 1895, and is .a director of the Great Western Railway- Company, Ltd. Sir Joseph Maclay, P. 0., a shipowner. He was Shipping Controller in Great Britain from 1916 to 1921, and aT member of the War 'Cabinet in 1918. PRIVY COUNCILLORS. "Sir William Sutherland, K.C.8., M.P. Prior to the war he and Mr Lloyd George prepared and put into operation the Old Age Pensions Act, and the National Insurance Act. He acted as Mr Lloyd George’s private eeoretary from 1916 to 192 Q, when he was appointed a Lord of the Treasury. Lieutenant - Commander Hilton Young, M.P. He saw much war service, and was on the Vindictive at the Zeebrugge mole. He was in command of the armoured train in the Archangel campaign. Last year he was appointed Financial Secretary to the Treasury. Lieutenant-Commander Dudley Ward, M.P., Vice-Chamberlain of His Majesty’s Household. BARONETS. Sir William Ball, P.C., M.P. He is a prominent member of the London County Council, and of many other public Bodies. Sir Ellis Hume-Williams, K.8.E., M.P., a’prominent barrister and authdr of law books. Sir Ernest Pollock, M.P., SolicitorGeneral in Mr Lloyd George’s OabiI net since 1919. "KNIGHTS. Mr Wolford Davis, musician. Mr Richard Terry, organist and director of music, .Westminster Cathedral. KNIGHTS OF THE BATH. Mr Alfred Cope—“for services in the Irish settlement.” This distinction will arouse comment. A fortnight ago the “Morning Post” alleged that Cope, Who acted as intermediary between the British Government and. the Sinn Fom leaders, had signed a contract by which he was appointed a director of Mi Lloyd George’s party organisation, and was to receive £9OOO cash, £2500 a year for seven yeans, inclusion in the next honours list, and a seat in Parliament. Cope denied' that he was to be given an honour or a seat in Parliament, or that the salary was as large as stated. Mr J. T. Davies, private secretary to Mr Lloyd George since 1912.
