AN ENJOYABLE EVENING

FIRE BRIGADE AND TIRE POLICE. A very enjoyable evening was recently spent at the Constable street Fire Station, when the members of the No. 2 Station entertained the officers and membere of the Wellington Volunteer Fire Police at a smoke concert. Those present were Captain Wright, Lieutenants Asher, Short, and Ogden, with a full muster of fire police, also Foreman Ogden and the members of the Miramar Fire Brigade. During the evening presentations were made by Captain Wright to Treasurer Ballinger and Mr Harding ns a mark of appreciation for good services rendered. The following gentlemen contributed items to the programme .—Mesers A. Harding, Roberts, Bryant, Tulley, Markham, Revell, Seddon, Evans, Edmonds, Graham, and Sharp. - Betore the conclusion of the evening, the officer* members of the Miramar

Fire Brigade invited the gentlemen present to attend another smoko concert at Miramar. This was held at the Miramar Hall, and a very enjoyable evening was spent, the additional talent being Messrs Houchen, Jordan, and Harlen.
