HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE! The following report has been received by the Department of Agriculture on the London market for butter and cheese from the High Commissioner: — BUTTER. The market * shows very little change. The present market price for Nev'Zea* land salted is about 208 e per cwt. Official quotations are:— New Zealand, (salted) —September 2nd: 206 s to 210 s per cwt (la lOd to Is lOidper Lb); exceptional, 214 a per cwt (Is 10jd per lb). August 28th: 208 sto 210 s per owt (Is 10id to Is IUJd per lb); exceptional, 214 s per owt (Is 10|d per lb). August 19th: 206 s to 210 s per cwt. (Is ICO. to Is IOJd per lb). Unsalted—September 2nd: 222 sto 224 s per cwt (Is llid to 2s per lb). August 26th: 224 a per owt (2s per 1-b). August 10th: 220 sto 2#4s. per cwt (Is llid to 2s per lb). CHEESE. New Zealand —September 2nd, coloured, 82s to 86s per cwt (BJd to 94d per lb); white, S6s to 90s per owt (9id to 9Jd per lb). August 26th, coloured, 84a to 86s per owt (»d to 9Jdl per lb); white, 88s to 90s por cwt <9id to 9jd per lb). August 19th, coloured, 84s to 86s per owt (9d to 9Jd per lb); white, 90s to 92s per cwt (9}d to lOd per lb). The s.s. Rimutaka is discharging New Zealand produce this week. The estimated stocks of cheese on hand at London, Liverpool, and Bristol on September Ist were 22,400 crates of New Zealand and Australian, and 108,000 boxes of Canadian and U.S.A. WELLINGTON CUSTOMS. The Customs revenue received at Weilingtoajpwtfirday totalled 493405 6s lid.
