WATER AND DRAINAGE. Estimates are now being prepared of the probable cost of reticulating Karori with water and drainage systems. Before anything caste done in the way of laying mains, it will he necessary to take a poll of the ratepayers of the district as to whether they will agree te be specially rated to cover the cost of -Urn work. In view of the progress being made with the augmentation of supplies of water from Orangorongo, it will be neccesary to get everything in readiness to connect up with the mains in the event of the poll being carried.
