MEN’S NARROW ESCAPE. FES PBBBS ASSOCIATION. WAIROA, September 4. Two men named Milner and Pike had a narrow escape from drowning this afternoon when attempting to orosq the Waiiba bar in a heavy sea. A. roller struck their fishing launch, and before it could right itself another capsized the boat. The men were washed off twice and rescued in an exhausted condition. They were saved by Maoris, who were gathering beach wood. The damaged launch was washed up at high tide.
