VENEREAL DISEASE
COMMITTEE RETURNS IMPORTANT WITNESSES TO BE CALLED IN WELLINGTON. SITTINGS NEXT WEEK. The special committee which is conducting the inquiry in regard to the prevalence of venereal disease returned to Wellington from Dunedin during the week-end, and will resume the taking of evidence in Wellington on Tuesday next week. Evidence will he givon by Mr A. Wright (Commissioner of Police), Dr Hay (Inspector-General of Mental Hospitals), the Government Statistician, the Registrar-General, and. it is expected'that important information will be supplied. Evidence will also be forthcoming from the Secondary School Teachers' Association on the subject of sex instruction for the young. The committee is anxious that it should be known that next week will probably finish the last opportunity for persons to give evidence, as it is expected that the public sittings will close before the end of that week.
