MR HENRY LAWSON DEAD

AN AUSTRALIAN POET. A cable message from Sydney reports the death of Mr Henry Lawson, the well-known Australian poet and writer. The late Mr Henry Hertzberg Lawson, who was 65 years of age, was born near Grenfell, New South Wales, his father being a Norwegian settler. In 1900 Mr Lawson went to London, where he remained for three years. On returning to Sydney he contributed verse and..-prose .to the “Bulletin,” and later published many short stories in prose and. verse depicting Australian life in its many phases. His mret popular verse, perhaps, was “While the Billy Boils.”
