MILAN COUNCIL DEPOSED

GUILTY OF EXTRAVAGANCE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. ROME, August 81. The Mayor and council of Milan have been deposed from office by Royal decree. A report declares that they carried out a political programme detrimental to the city’s interests, and indulged in' lavish expenditure in socialising amusements, schools, dispensaries, and other functions, whilst neglecting real improvements and public utilities. Notwithstanding increased rates, the municipal budget showed a deficit of 300,000,000 dire. The Fascists were therefore justified in taking over the administration.
