A special meeting of the management committee yvas held last evening. Mr 8. J. Keegan presided. A latter wa« received from Christchurch Centre to the effect that Sydenham would visit Wellington and play a local team oil Saturday, September 2nd. As a Town iv. Country match had already been arranged for that date, some discussion took place in Tegard to what team would;now be pitted against Sydenham. It was finally decided that, the Town team "would .play the Canterbury champions at Newtown Park. The match is to take’ place at 3 p.m. : _ It was decided that a curtain-raiser be played to the above match, the teams to he Central and South, and the game to ’ commence at 2 p.m. Messrs Ponder and Campbell are the appointed line umpires for the.
