AT THE BASIN RESERVE; city opusksl»s DECISION. Competitive designs are to be invited by the City Council for "the new pavilion which it 33 proposed to erect at the' Basin Reserve. The competition will be confined to Wellington. architects. In the portion which it is proposed to erect first, accommodation will e provided for not less than 2500 persons, but subsequently a total seating space will be provided tor twice that number. The amount available for expenditure cm the first portion of the building is to be limited to £IO,OOO. ' A prize of £IOO will •be- offered tor the first design and £SO for the second. The selection will be made by a committee consisting of Mr C. A. Lawrence, the city engineer, and the chairman of the committee (Councillor J. Thompson).
