. A youthful seaman, 16 years of age, and whose name was, oraered to be suppressed, appeared before Messrs R. D, Hanlon and H. B. Bridge,. Justices of'the Peace, at the Magistrate’s Court, charged that he did forge the name of Joseph Machen t o IrP.O. withdrawal slip for £43 10s and that he did utter Hie same to Bernard R. Banks, with intent that it should be acted upon as if genuine. Accused ' was further charged that with intent to defraud he did attempt to obtain • £ipm Bernard Banks, a cadet in the P.O. Savings Bank, Wellington, the sum of £43 10s by falsely representing that a certain P.O. withdrawal slip had been signed by Joseph Machen. , Accused, who pleaded guilty, was committed to the. Supreme Court for sentence.. .Rail was allowed on Canon Fielden Taylor's bond of £IOO, a condibeing made than the accused remains under the custody of the canon.
