PONEKE CRICKET CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING LAST EVENING. The Second {annual meeting of the Poneke Cricket Club was held last evening in Scott's Tearooms. Mr A. F. Wiren, vice-president of the dub, presided, and there was a good muster qf olub members. Thirteen new members were elected. The annual report stated that the dub bad fulfilled *ll engagements I throughout the season, though it had failed to gain any championship honourn Teams had been entered for the junior "A" and "B," third-class and intermediate "C" grades, ‘ the latter in the Boys' League competition. In the lastnamed grade the team had been runnersup for the championship. The balance-sheet revealed a satisfactory credit balance in the bank. It was decided to make an increase in the subscription to the dub, both for players under eighteen yean of age and senior men. - The records of the teams were as follows:—Junior "A": Played 10, won 4, lost 6; points for 11, points against 17. Junior VB": Played 10, won 3, lost 7j | points for 9, points against 90. Thirdclass: Played 18, won 12, lost 6: points for 29, points against 10. Boys' League: Played 15, won 12, lost 3; points for, 29. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following officers were elected:— President, Dr A. K. Newman, H.P.; vice-presidents, Messrs A. F. Wiren, If.
