MR HUGHES AND THE NEXT ELECTION. CANDIDATE FOR NORTH SYDNEY. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, August 31. The campaign secretary of one of the National candidates for the new North Sydney seat has announced the receipt of a telegram, from Mr Hughes, stating that he will be a . candidate. He is earning to Sydney on Sunday, probably to state definitely , his intentions. MELBOURNE, August 31. Mr Hughes declined to say whether he was contesting the North Sydney seat, and added: “They will say I am contesting Brisbane next.” Mr Hashes at present represents Bendigo, nut for some time it has been stated that he wants a mare sympathetic constituency. VICTORIAN CONSTITUENCIES. MELBOURNE, August 31. The report of the Electoral Commissioners on the redistribution of eionatituencies in Victoria has been tabled. It recommends that Grampians should disappear, and the new Deakin seat be abandoned.
