FEDERAL PROPOSAL TURNED DOWN. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, August 30. The - State Cabinet has turned down tho Commonwealth proposals for the amalgamation of the income tax departments on tho grounds that the , State collects the tax more cheaply than tlio Commonwealth, and also that there is a fundamental difference between the taxes.
