Captain Fletcher is actingmaster of the vessel. Chas. McArthur and Co. advise that the coastal steamer Orepuki is due at Wellington on Thursday with produce from Lyttelton. She is to sail from Wellington pn Thursday evening for Greymouth, taking general cargo for tho •latter port and Hokitika. The Union Company advise that the Komata is now timed to sail from Wellington at 1 p.m. to-morrow for Westport taking passengers and general cargo. Captain R. Hay, of the Anchor Co.’s steamer Nikau, has been appointed the company’s marine superintendent at Nelson. "Captain Henry has succeeded to the command of the Nikau. The Fort Sydney berthed at Timaru at l p.m. yesterday, from Bluff, for Homeward loading. General sympathy will be felt for Mr F. H. Gifford, chief clerk of the head office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, on account of the death yesterday morning of his only son, aged 13 years. The Canterbury Company's steamer Breeze is due at Wellington on Friday from Dunedin, Timaru. and Lyttelton. She will sail from Wellington on Friday evening for Wanganui. The Canterbury Company’s steamer Calm, which left Wellington yesterday afternoon for Wanganui, is due back at the former port to-morrow morning. She will load at Wellington to-morrow for Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. W. M. Rannatyne and Co. advise that the Anchor Company’s steamer Regulus is due at Wellington at 5 p.m. to-day from Picton, instead of the steamer Wat mea. The Kegulus is to leave Wellington at 5 p.m. to-morrow direct for Westport and Greymouth, taking cargo for those ports and for Motueka. The Kahika is due at Wellington on Saturday from Onehjmga, and w.ill sail on the same day for Dunedin, taking general cargo. The Katoa will leave Dunedin on Thursday for Wellington via ports. She is due at Wellington next Tuesday, and fwill sail on the same day with general cargo for Auckland. ' The Wingatui will sail from Oamaru to-day for Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on Friday, and will sail on the same day for Auckland, taking general cargo. ■ The Kamo left Timaru at 6.15 o’clock last night for Lyttelton and Wellington. The Shaw, Savil.l and Albion Company's liner Athenic is to leave Auckland on Thursday for Lyttelton and Port Chalmere, 'to complete disoharge and to load at both ports. The vessel will subsequently Load, also, at Timaru and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on September 12th, and will sail from here at daybreak on September 17th for Southampton and London via Monte Video and Teneriffe. BARQUE RONA SOLD. The well-known barque Rona, which has been laid-up at Wellington since last September, has been sold by her owners, the Geo. fi. Scales Co., Ltd., to Sydney buyers. The vessel will be placed on the Wellington patent slip this morning, and is expected to sail for Sydney, in ballast, in about a week’s time. The Rona, which was purchased by Mr Geo. H. Scales, of Wellington, early in 1916, was originally named the Polly Woodside. She is an iron barque of 678 tons gross and 618 tons net, built in 1885 by Workman, Clark and Co., Belfast. Her principal diminsions are—length 192 ft 2in, beam 30ft lin, depth 16ft. The Rona was at one time owned by the Colonial Sailing Ship Co., Ltd. (A. H. Tarn bull, manager), Lyttelton. THE EASTERN SEA. Dalgety and Co. advise that the U.S. and A. Line steamer Eastern Sea will not leave Wellington until Thursday for New Plymouth, Sydney and Melbourne, to put out the remainder of her cargo from New York. MAHANA’B MOVEMENTS. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that the Mahana is due at Wellington on Thursday from Lyttelton, to complete loading The vessel is to sail from Wellington on the 29th inst. for London via Monte Video and Teneriflo. TAINUI FROM HOME. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co. advise that the next passenger boat of their fleet to leave Home for New Zealand, is the Tainui, which is to sail from Southampton on September 21st for the Dominion, where she is due on October 29th. CANADIAN STATE SERVICE. Murray, Roberts and Co. announce the following projected movements of vessels of the Canadian Government Line: From Vancouver for Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide: Canadian Highlander, on October sth; Canadian Britisher, on October 25th; Canadian Skirmisher on November 20th; Canadian Traveller, on December 20th. WANGAiRATTA TO LOAD. The New Zealand! Shipping Company advise that the Wangaratto is to leave Auokland to-morrow evening for Wellington, where she is due on Friday to complete Homeward loading. The vessel will sail from Wellington next Monday for London, via Monte Vidieo and Las Palmas. REWA TO LAY UP. The G. H. Scales Company’s large fourmasted barque Rewa, which craved at Auokland last week from Newcastle, is to pay off her crew and lay-up a t Auckland. CARGO FROM NEW YORK. Dalgety and Co. adviso that the U.S. and A. Line' steamer Eastern Btahet wili sail from New York next Fnday with general cargo to discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Australia. OTARAMA TO LOAD. The Federal Line advise that the Otarama will now leave Wanganui roadstead tills afternoon for Wellington, where she is due to-morrow morning to complete Homeward loading. The vessel is to 6ail from Wellington on Thursday evening for Liverpool, Manchester, l and Glasgow.

OMANA FOR AUCKLAND. Chas. McArthur and Co. advise that Lamb and Co.’s inter-colonial cargo steamer Omana is to leave Wellington on Thursday for Auckland, taking general cargo. The vessel will proceed from Auckland to Whangarei to put out the remainder of cargo from Australia. PORT ALBANY FOR HOME. The C. and D. Lino advise that the Port Albany is to leave Lyttelton at daybreak to-day for London via Monte Video. BLOEMFONTEIN at" AUCKLAND. The A. and A. Line steamer Bloemfontein arrived at Auckland at 8.40 o’clock yesterday morning from New York. After putting out part cargo the vessel will leave Auckland on Friday, for Napier and Wellington. The vessel is expected to reach Wellington on the 30th inst. From Wellington she will proceed nn to Lyttelton, Timaru, Hobart, and Melbourne. THE WESTMORELAND. The Federal Line advise that the steamer Westmoreland, which arrived at Lyttelton on Saturday afternoon from Port Chalmers, will leave there on Thursday for Napier, Gisborne, and Wellington, to complete her cargo. The vessel is to sail from Wellington on September Cth for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow. TRAWLER TALK. Captain Ormes, of the steam trawler Nora Niven, has left Wellington for Napier to take command l of the new trawler Futurist, which arrived at Napier yesterday morning from England. The Futurist is to come to Wellington shortly to trawl about Cook Strait and will make Wellington her headquarters. Captain Double, of tlie traiyler Weka, has transferred to the Nora Niven, and Cap-, tain R.undell, mate of the trawler Weka, has been promoted to master of that Vessel. INTERCOLONIAL SERVICE. The Moeraici is to leave Auckland at 11 a.ra. on Thursday for Sydney. The Manuka, which arrived at Sydney at 2.30 p.m. yosterdav from Auckland, is to leave the former port at 11 a.m. on Friday direct for Wellington, where eho is one next Tuesday. ,
