ANGLICAN SYNOD
CONFERENCE CONTINUED. BUSINESS OF YBSTEBDAY'B SESSION. The annual conference of the Anglicaa Synod was continued yesterday at the Sydney street Schoolroom, His Lordship Bishop Sprat t presiding. Mr J. AV. Henderson moved that except in cases of emergency necessitating a prompt election, two months* notice be given to the members of the Trustees Board of all vacancies on the Board of Trustees. He also proposed that nominations for such vacancies should be forwarded to the Diocesan treasurer at least one month before the meeting of the Trusts Board. The motion was carried, the chairman of the Trust Board being specified as the authority to decide whether a prompt election might be necessary.
A further notion was brought forward bv Mr Henderson relating to the establishment of a provincial pension fund. He moved that a committee be appointed to report to the next session of the Synod on the Pension Fund Act, suggesting such amendments as might be found necessary to carry out the recommendation, adopted by Synod, contained in the report of the Commission which had gone into the question. Mr Henderson stressed the advisability of so (,s-imilnting the funds that at some fiiinre date it might be possible to establish a fond on a basis that would be fair to all. The motion was carried, and the committee was set up as follows:—Yen. Archdeacons Johnson and Watson, and Messrs G. Shirtcliffe. R. Wilberfoss. G. G. Bridges. B. F Hadfield, J. W. Hendersou and H. Huggins. Synod decided on the motion of the Rev. W. Fanconrt to commend to the notice of the clergy and church people of the D'ocpse the work of the Society for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge Church bqok store, and to ask for their generous support
