TRAMWAY DISPUTE
DISCUSSED BY CITY COUNCIL. A special meeting of the City Council was held in committee yesterday afternoon in connection with the tramway dispute. Tho meeting was called upon the receipt of a letter from the Traimraymen’s Union, which asserted that the union felt that the councillors did not understand the union’s point of view. It was felt that if the council heard a delegation from tho union it might ho possible to find a solution of the present difficulties. The Mayor therefore summoned a council meeting. The Mayor stated at the conclusion of the meeting that he could make nr announcement for the present eonoern ing the dispute.
