VICTORY AVON BY BITING THE ANIMAL’S NOSE. In a wood in Northern Finland there was recently a thrilling struggle between a hunter and a great bear. The latter had been wounded by a shot, but as tho man approached the bear attacked him, and a hard struggle began, which lasted for more an hour. The man pushed ibis hand into tho animal’s throat an*d gripped his tongue, at the same time beating its head with an axe. But it was only when JlO set his teeth into the beast’s nostrils* so that the blood was spurting forth that tho boar loosened its grip, and the man was rescued, Iris hand, however, being seriously injured.
