SOME TREATS IN STORE
J. C, WILLIAMSON PRODUCTIONS. According to cable messages received recently, some important productions have been obtained by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., for presentation in Australia and New Zealand. These include many recent London, successes, in drama, musical comedy, and light opera. In drama the most important are Miss Clemence Dane's "Bill of Divorcement” and Galsworthy's "Skin Game,” both of which had successful runs in London. "The Cat and the Canary,” a recent New York dramatic success, lias also been procured. Williamson's have made an arrangement with the directors of Daly’s Theatre, London, which will give them the choice of all Daly's Theatre productions for five years. "The Lady of the Rose.” the first choice, is now running at Daly’s, and promises to rival the success achieved by "The Merry Widow" and "The Maid of the Mountains.” The musical comedies, "Sybil,” V*southern Maid,” and "Whirled’ into Happiness.” have also been obtained. Apart from Daly's Theatre production**, "The Naughty Princess,” which is coon to he put into rehearsal by the company at present playing at Her Majesty's. "The Golden Moth,” and "Sally,” which has been running in London for nearly a year, ad in New York for nearly two years, have been secured. An interesting announcement is that Lady Forbts Robertson (Miss Gertrude Elliott) will visit Australia with an English company in March. 1923. and appear in several plays of her selection. M. Benno Moisevitch will revisit Australia in April. 1923, and M. Rachmaninoff, pianist and composer, will make his first visit to the Commonwealth in May next year.
