PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION. At a fully-attended meeting of tho committee of the Ngaio Progressive- Association, Mr Lynneberg presided. In regard to the need for a public slot telephone, it was pointed out that there were no publio telephone facilities after business hours. It was decided to write to the Postmaster-General asking that a telephone be installed at the junction of the main and station roads. The necessity for the existence of a rubbish tip was emphasised. Owing to some persons having deposited rubbish in tho council reserve below the Gorge road, the secretary waa instructed to write to the council suggesting that notioe hoards be placed there pro. hibiting the practice. It was suggested that there should be some fire-fighting appliance® stationed at Ngaio, and it was decided to inquire if anything could be done in the matter.
