A MUSICAL TREAT
OTAKI CHORAL SOCIETY. Otaki is certainly fortunate in posses* in* such a musician as the honorary conductor of its Choral Society, Madame Joseph ing Ottlee, A.R.A.M. Under her direction the society gave its first performance in Otaki in December last, and t?ie production was described as "a musical treat." On July 3rd Wellinjponiana will be given the opportunity of hearing this bodv in such fine works as Cowen> 4,4 Rose Maiden" and the “Qallia" ol Gounod. The youn? rirl, who will takf the part of the Hose Maiden, is said tc possess a beautiful voire, with a range of over two octaves and fine equality ol tone. The choir numbers 100 in all; ard of this total 60 will bo selected for the performance, which will be riven in the Soncert Chamber of tho Town Hall. Popular items will be riven by pen formers, besides the two major works Patrons will be well advised to bool their seats early.
